    Wonder Woman? :ugh:

  2. Yea I read that about Wonder Woman...definitely on the fence about that one.

Regarding Firefly and the Serenity movie:
With the outcome of Serenity and the building of those characters in Firefly (and my whole day to reflect on what I had viewed this past weekend)- I truly can't see where Whedon can go from there. More battles with Niska? The shady cop? Reavers? How many well laid out plans that turn bad can happen more in that series?

I have laid it to rest. I won't be petitioning for more Firefly episodes or even a sequel to Serenity.

Like Star Wars (4,5,and 6) and the Indian Jones trilogy - I have resigned myself to believing this series, although short, can't be built upon or made any better than what Whedon and Minear have already accomplished. I don't know if Whedon can ever find that "zone" again when visiting the Firefly world .

The Firefly series was indeed short but very, very shiny...er sweet.;)

Stop buying your movies off shady ebay dealers BD..

"Outcast from his Cherokee tribe, archaeologist/medicine man 'Indian Jones' battles the Nazi's in a race against time uncovering sacred artifacts, ensuring they don't fall into the hands of evil. Set includes Raiders of the Lost Totem, Indian Jones and the Teepee of Doom, and Indian Jones and the last Pow wow. "

In all seriousness, it looks like they're revisiting the Indiana Jones franchise for a 4th movie. Whedon could add to the Serentiy storyline if he wanted. Book was the most complicated character in the series, yet to be fully revealed, so getting rid of him allows the potential for the storyline to move forward without requiring prior Firefly knowledge. Its only finished if he wants it to be I'd say..

    Oh ya..

    Zoey: Those grenades Jayne?
Jayne: Ya, cap'n says he doesn't want 'em
Zoey: We're robbing the place Jayne, not occupying it

    later...

Jayne: geee.. GRENADES sure would be useful right about now wouldn't they?

  5. Agreed Asp - I would've liked to have learned the story behind Book. What got my attention the most was the episode where he got shot and was immediately ushered in for medical aid on an Alliance station. Or in Serenity where he tells Malcolm that he doesn't have to know why Book knows what he does about the Alliance's motives and intentions regarding River.

  6. Yea what the hell am I talking about?

Yea they've been taking about this movie since the beginning of Y2K...it seems between an approved script and everybody's (Harrison Ford, George Lucas, and Stephen Spielberg) busy schedule they haven't been able to commit to filming.

EDIT: I found this on an Indiana Jones forum dated December 7th 2005
"Famed filmmaker George Lucas jetted into New York yesterday to attend the blockbuster premiere of "King Kong" with his kids in tow — and in the spur of the moment.

So the big news is that Lucas is now devoting himself full-time to writing and producing "Indiana Jones 4." Steven Spielberg, of course, will direct.

Lucas told me that he's got a script now from Jeff Nathanson, and he's tweaking it. That won't go on forever, he assured me, and filming will occur before Harrison Ford goes into a nursing home."

I'm on the fence about Whedon revisiting with these same characters again. I mean the series was done almost perfectly, and I've read where he had so much story left to tell and that Serenity was really Firefly Season II wrapped up in under 2 hours.

I think it would be cool if Whedon does go to a Firefly series again that from time to time during storylines, sub-plots could be added that explain a little more about who Sheppard Book really was...

    River, stay behind the others.
    If there's fighting,
drop to the floor or run away.
    It's okay
    to leave them to die.

    Doctor, I'm taking your sister
    under my protection here.

    If anything happens to her,
    anything at all...
I swear to you I will get very choked up.

    Honestly.
    There could be tears.
