History is often glorified. Make no doubt that Rome was an impressive civilization, so was Egypt. But Rome was built on decades of war and slaughter. If thier biggest problem is kids running around with advertisments tatooed on their foreheads, I'll be thankful.

I was kinda hoping the entire human race would eventually evolve instead of being content to repeat history.

What excuses do you think terrorists are using to justify attacking us? In their eyes we're corrupt, greedy, selfish, spoiled, immoral, etc. Tattoo'd marketing boobies reinforce that.

How far will we go for a dollar? There's always someone willing to raise the bar.

In the end it seems things always repeat themselves. I mean here we are an advanced civilization and we are still fighting each other over religion, trying to bring its values upon everyone and still fighting over Gay rights. Ultimately one of the reasons terrorists are after us is because of their religion(s).

All this time and we are still blind to the fact that everyone has a right to be whatever they want to be and not be governed by the appropriate "Definitions" of something like marriage from a book that is thousands of years old and basically folklore. I know this view isn't popular but it's how I feel hehe - we as a Civ are still held back by all this crap that has been going on for thousands of years. Hopefully someday we will break out of it and realize we create our own destinies and control our own lives - we can be whatever we want to be and should not be persecuted for it. As long as we keep fighting over "values" and who should determine what we and our kids should be allowed to do with their OWN lives we are destined to repeat everything all over again, crumble and move on to the next civ to rip down.

I believe every person has the right to be who they want to be and worship as they choose or choose not to, but with certain limitations. If you want to be an axe murderer, I have a problem with that. If your religion requires you to hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings...I have a problem with that. <3

btw, sweety, I probably have been exposed to more pure evil than you have. I once had a stepmother who was sadistic. She was committed to an asylum about a year after my father divorced her. He was thankful that he was able to be granted a divorce before she was declared insane or else she wouldnt' have been able to sign the documents, legally.

I never understood her. Call me naive. I kept believing there was some good in her somewhere. Maybe that's how I stayed alive.

actually, i love looking at butterflies we have painted ladies that fly en mass thru here during the spring months ... its wonderous sight to see them migrating, by the HUNDREDS .... ever since i was a small child i have collected butterflies, i have quite a few exotic ones framed and hung on the walls in the house.
