T2 Ix

  1. Bah, a nice lightning bolt shooting out a lance is much sweeter looken than the stupid little bb spread graphic that all the mods use for a shotgun.

    And explain me how anybody would cap if you had 3 people Maging them as they came in?!? :confused:

    Is there some big draw back to the weapon that I don't know? Even if the range is nerfed to 20 meters, you have more than one LD, you can take em down easily.....very ghey, I must be missing something. It seems like the ultimate n00b no skill dueling weapon.

    But the booster pack still looks cool. I know I must be missing something about the Mag, no game can be balanced with a weapon like that, but i'm sure you will all point out how dumb i'm being :p

    The mag gun is rendered useless with an EMP round lobbed in. The EMP drains all energy to zero for a period of time. I think it was like 8-10 seconds?? Not sure. The mag gun ran off of energy like the elf. If you were EMP'ed, no energy, thus no mag gun. It was a n00b weapon for sure, as you would see lots of them running around magging everything in sight. But the same can be said for the blaster in T2. Every n00b in the game runs around pinging everthing with the blaster. In the hands of a pro, the mag was a lethal weapon against the booster.

    The shotgun was not merely a pellet gun. It used a high level burst of energy that shot small projectiles. They spread rapidly over a distance just like a real shotgun. But, if you were chasing someone or dueling, it could come in handy killing a badly weakened foe if you got a lucky hit from a distance. The one thing I liked was there was a range to it, unlike the lance. Its ammo was limited as in shells. I have used the lance and the shotgun and the satisfactory sound of a fatty suddenly finding his butt handed to him is good in both weapons! :D

    The mag gun was also useless against a guy with full health. You were able to get away from it with full health 9 out of 10 times. It's those times when you were damaged that it hurt you.

    2 you had the ablitity knock them the fuck out with that frizbee!


    Capping I dont ever recal anyone ever even using a mag on a capper, + cappers in IX uses Heatsink packs, basically the equilvant to capping with a rpr pack on now however you moived soo much faster in T1 then T2 Id love to see how he fixes that. Most of the time cappers Got Emped but if you were a bad ass you DJ alot and got out of the blast radius of the blast b4 it hit you, making you learn ski routes like a gawd, oops that me :D

    to clarify the mag gun a little (mag fag) it only hits your health or did/does in tribes 1. so you still have energy to get away or at least in the air... and in the air its almost useless, because it runs on your pack energy.

    (i guess it was nice on the booster fattys in the air, because it over heated them so fast.)

    The mag gun did not effect your armor energy. The mag gun, or magnetic gun would draw you to the person using it and slowly increase it's drain on your health by crushing you with your own armor. The mag gun was most deadly to heavy armors because they couldn't always get away fast enough. Lights could usually just move out of range.

    Very powerful weapon in spawn armor that helped many teams recover after a critical base rape. If there were no chace of recovering, games would be over in the first five minutes because inventories were crucial in IX.

    If someone is magging you and you are a heavy EMP them. If you don't have an EMP and have full health. Throw a mine and grenade at them and hit the health button.
     
  8. It seem like IX like Legends is just some dream that is meant to materalize "sometime" in the future. Until then, I'll play base :p


    p.s. The f0ker better put a shocklance in the game, it be like taking out the spinfusor if he didn't :(

  10. Speaking of the shotgun...

    Ever snipe with one of those? Greatest thing in the world to have a heavy pop in your sights, switch to shotgun and blow him all the way down the hill in little pieces :D
     
  11. IX kept all the original weapons none were changed if memory severs me correct this is what IX had added that made the mod sweet.

    L=Light Armor
    M=Medium Armor
    H=Heavy Armor

    Mag Gun- L,M,H
    VMP-Vengence missle pack- H
    Rocket Launcher- M,H
    ShotGun- L,M,H
    EMP, Electro Magnetic Pulse- M,H
    IX2000-Bad Ass sniper rifle that shot bullets- L
    Deployable Flak cannon- M, H
    Sentury Turrets- M, H
    Deployable Force fields- They could be taken out with I think 1 or 2 Mortors and there was a proxmity to turrets that you couldnt deploy them in- L,M,H

    New Packs
    Cloak Pack- L
    Heat Sink- L,M,H
    Rocket Booster- M,H

    You could also snipe flags off peeps backs and snipe weapons out of there hands.

    There were no flares and almost every capper wore a heatsink, so fighting was like fighting in spawn.

    There were alot of comments that this mod and alot of auto-aim or assited weapons but the only one I knew of was the rocket launcher and as with anythign it just took practise to get around those, this mod was balenced IMO and didnt have the regulars that base had such as.

    Mine Disk or CG whores if you played it enough you loved it and I did :D

    If you could deploy a flack in a Med it's news to me.

    Plus you forgot the Phanax Cannon, and it could only be used by a Med, and it took up 2 weapons slots.

    The phalanx.... Makes me drool just thinking about it! ON broadside, suit up in Meduim, Ammo pack and phalanx, then run down the enemy entrance with both guns firing, you could maul everyone in the hall before you died (giving the cappers and heavies their chance to enter)

    The fun thing to do with the mag was you could sling shot your own people with it.

    What about a laser on the heat sync! BOOOM (darn that Shadowspawn! heh heh heh)

    I just want a Boosted Meduim with a phalanx, is that to much to ask?!?!?

  14. Does IX Savage1 know that your carrying on the mod to T2. If you've already mentioned this then sorry. I just don't read threads over one page long. :p Looks good though.

    Sav had started working on it, but didn't get very far. He gave all the code he had to Brimstone so he could carry on the IX toacch.
