At first I saw ignorance. Then I realized how irational Dane gets. So it all started making sense. Your statement is not only narrow minded but also has a pointless edge to it. You never answered my question. So the CIA fuels these people to fight the USSR.

When they were of no use to the CIA they were left cold with drugs as their only suggested way out. That country was under seige for a good 10 years and is filled with landmines. So who cares that they were abandoned at the last minute and left for dead. We packed up and left. Left them for dead. After all it would cost money to actually help them right?

So what did we prove to the people of that area? That we didn't give a shit about them? That all our promises were empty. Or maybe they just thought about all the people that died in the wars. How the CIA cut their medical aid and they had the privlage of watching their loved ones loose limbs to infection or die. How the CIA basically stabbed them in the back and left them for dead.

Yeah I wouldn't want to hunt you down and kill you all if you left me for dead.

It is best to understand an enemy before you assume anything. From their point of view we are the enemy and I understand why. The CIA made a mistake and now we are paying for it. No one ever thought the enemy was capable of crippling us so much. They simply outsmarted us at our own game.

No country has ever crippled us like that. Strategicaly it was a stroke of genious.

I just like to know why people do the things they do. I think it is very sad when people feel war and death are the only way to resolve a problem. With that said I will answer the final question. The DVD "Spaceballs" is alright and should be bought for it will forever be a classic.

When it all comes down to it does it really matter why they did it? No. In the end I really don't give a shit, they did do it and that is all that matters. If trying to rationalize it from their point of view makes you feel better MTX then go for it, we all have to find our ways to make ourselves feel better and cope with what happened.

Why did Hitler kill 6 million Jews in concentration camps and another 6 million "others" in the same camps? Personally, Hitler could explain it to me for 10 years, I still wouldn't give a shit.

Do you think the Al Queda honestly cares why we pulled out of Afganastan and left them all to be blown up by land mines for the next 25 years? Do you think they would forgive us and be our butt pals if we said we were sorry and explained to them that it was a policy decision at the time. We were in the cold war, worried about nuclear way.

Do you think they will stop their attacks because we have pledged to give their country 500 Million Dollars?

Why did Pontius Pilot sentance Jesus to Death even though he knew he was innocent?

Why was a country founded on the principles of freedom one of the last to abolish slavery? Why did they have to kill eachother over the fact?

Many event beg the answer to the "why" question. But will knowing the answer ever take the pain and death and destruction of these events?

I'm sure the Japanese often ask why we decided to kill a few hundred thousand of them using 2 bombs. I know a lot of answers to that question. Do you think the people who lost 90% of their family in they end really care why we did it.

Personally I find the human quest for "why" to be amusing. Why? Because it really has no relavance to the side that the even occured to. The why makes those responsible feel better for their actions. The answer to the why is never satisfactory to those on the other side.

You mean to tell me that Al Queda killed 3000 Citizens of the world in 2001 because of something we did in 1970? That doesn't cut it for me.

But like I said, if it helps you get through the day, then justify it all you want, we all need to feel better about the murder of 3000 innocents, or do we? Maybe we shouldn't try to feel better, maybe we should just grive and remember and hope that the pain slowly fades with time, instead of trying to rationalize something that makes no sense so we can feel better about it while hundreds of children are living with their relatives because they no longer have parents.

 

I just like seeing things from both sides before I draw conclusions.
