  3. I am so gonna get one of those.

  4. lol, they don't MAKE you, but a lot of people do because its a great way to segway into selling a bluetooth phone(which are always more expensive) with a headset accessory. ITS THE FUTURE! :D

  5. Keynote is awesome. I was getting sick of my current Smartphone. Freaking Windblows mobile is slow, buggy, and locks up. Cingular is one of my biggest customers, so hopefully I can squeeze them for a deal.

  6. Hamma, you are banned from using this phone. After all the crap you gave me for using a mac for my graphic design classes, it's time for retribution.

Actually a third company had it and Cisco bought them.

From reports they were negotiating and the Cisco side said they were waiting for Apple to return the paperwork. So to hurry it up they sued.

Which worked like a champ since the Cisco stock took a little hit over it. I expect Cisco to back off of that brilliant bit of bar knowledge.

Cisco's Official Comments on the Apple iPhone Announcement

SAN JOSE Calif., January 9, 2007 - Given Apple's numerous requests for permission to use Cisco's iPhone trademark over the past several years and our extensive discussions with them recently, it is our belief that with their announcement today, Apple intends to agree to the final document and public statement that were distributed to them last night and that addressed a few remaining items. We expect to receive a signed agreement today.

    http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/2007/corp_010907b.html

I think Apple didn't want to sign before the announcement for the same reason they announced 6 months ahead of scheduled release. They didn't want the announcement to come from anyone but Apple. (The word on the street is Apple announced at Mac World because the next step is FCC certification and once that starts the info about the phone is public knowledge. Apple wanted to frame the announcement, as they should)

Anyone really think this will not be called the iPhone?

  12. I think its going to be called the iP0wn!

To add to the fun, AT&T now owns Cingular.

    http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/01/12/cingular/index.php

For those keeping score, AT&T sold their wireless to Cingular in 2005. AT&T buys SBC, Cingular's owner. Monday, AT&T will start to kill the Cingular brand.

Cingular spend billions building their brand, *poof* gone. I have a hard time believing it was $4 billion in 2006, but that's what was supposed to be spent.

Too bad they didn't spend that improving their network.

  14. actually they spent about 2 billion building towers on the west coast alone, trying to mimic Verizons coverage footprint.

  15. aaww crap...so i had to get a new phone when att changed to cing...thats what they told me anyway....now..am i going to have to buy yet another phone when att takes over the cingular?

i swear to god...im so confused...

you shouldnt have too...if they do that...would be alot of pissed off customers

  17. at&t was completely dead, bought out.. this is just a company that bought the name and started using it again. When Cingular changes to at&t it will be nothing more then a name change. The cingular network will stay GSM and so will their towers so there wont be a need for a new phone. The reason you had to buy a new phone before was that the old at&t was a different network.
