    Better yet....

    Take those small red and purple potatoes you see in the store.

    Wash and throw them into a bowl
    Add some Olive Oil
    Throw some Mrs. Dash on them
    Toss to coat
    Set aside.

    Then....

    Take one whole chicken or a couple cornish game hens (depends on if you're cooking for 2 or a family) and wash them. Pat dry and take out the gizzards and such.

    Rub olive oil over them to coat
    Take some McCormicks Poultry Rub and rub it into the meat. I have yet to try my own rub but this stuff flat out owns.

    Combine chicken and potatoes and throw into a roasting pan at 500 degrees for 15 minutes, then turn down to 400 for another 20 or so until the chicken reaches 170 degrees (I cheat as I have one of those digital thermometers).

    Take chicken out and quarter or place game hens onto plate.
    Then add the potatoes.

    Sit down and enjoy.

    Our first Christmas we spent together in our house, we sat and watched the first two Lord of the Rings movies. For dinner, just before we went to see the third one in the theater, we had cornish game hens and potatoes for dinner. The thing was that we had to eat with our hands and use no utensils, much like our hobbit friends did. It was hillarious to me seeing my prim and proper wife try to eat chicken without using a fork or knife.

    i do that alot with the tatoes sent, problem is, i dont like to touch raw meat, its child hood thing, growing up on a farm. we had chickens and we used to have butcher them ourselfs.... i took me along time till i finally at chicken again. watching them run around with their heads cut off and blood spurting everywhere... not pretty.. and then putting them in hot water and plucking feathers..... needless to say, well, i dont like to touch raw meat... i have to use boneless skinless breasts if i cook chicken, and its part of the reason i dont do thanksgiving dinners. i never cook a whole chicken either.....

    however, i am sure that the recipe can be adapted to other types of meat too :) *grins*

    and as for the no utensil things :) cool!!! :) for my daughters birthday party one year, we do themes every year, we did a desert island, the year before we had a *cruise* party, and everything was as if you were on a cruise ship, so the next year we did the deserted island, and we were shipwrecked, and well... all the utensils were gone, so we used what washed up on shore to eat, spatulas, whisks, potatoe mashers, :) all them sorts of things, we drank out of bowls, and well... it was fun!!! :)

    oh gosh, i need to find the pictures of the lamps my mother made in the spirit of the movie, *a christmas story* she was dumpster diving and found these great maniquin legs and one of the family members is a stripper and gave her tons of shoes :) with very high heels, great shoes i might add *winks* and she sewed up some fancy shades and well, they actually turned out great :) she gave all of them names and tried to sell them, to no avail on the internet :)

    so now we have all these *leg* lamps, as we lovingly refer to them, around her house :)
