Warhammer 40,000: The Tiadein Chronicles

Discussion in 'Upcoming Games Discussion' started by Hyncharas, 19 Aug 2004.

  1. Syndicat/Syndicate Wars were the best games evar.

Good luck with the project Hyncharas, sounds like an exiting challenge.

  2. yea, i know it will turn out Top knotch :)

  3. They did it again, I don't believe it... after getting Dawn of War today I found they left out the Bike Squadrons/Variants.

Alright, everyone who knows Warhammer 40,000 and has an idea put it on this thread. I'll add the ones I think are important or necessary to my wishlist for features and see how it goes to putting it in-game.

  4. yea.. they didnt have bikes in the beta.

No biggie... they still have a lot of cool stuff

  5. Ok, make sure you include the imperial guard. :p

I was majorly surprised when I found out DoW didnt have the imperial guard.

Hell, I'd say satisfty everyone and include all the sides, and dont forget about specific space marine chapters (Daemonhunters, space wolves).

Thats about all I have to say for now.

  6. ORANGE

    ORANGE DragonWolf

Hyncharas your the coolest guy I know....... as for stuff for in game for DoW I'll ask my WH40K buddy fanatic as I don't really know much about the game

  7. I started an Imperial Guard army, thats why I am so worried about them not being in games. :p

  8. Not to give up much more of the story's information, the player takes the role of someone who has gone on to be an Imperial Guard soldier as they reached their late-teens, near to where the game begins.

So, yeah, it has always been my plan to start cultivating characters in other races than the Space Marines, as even though they play an important role in the WH40K universe... they have shared a good deal of the limelight a little too often.

  9. Dare I mention Karskins? :p

  10. if there are some Good WHK40k books id love to get into this. I just dont feel like having a army of tiny plastic figurines.

  11. A complete listing for all current and future fictional-publications from Games Workshop can be found at the address below, from their Black Library website:

    http://www.blacklibrary.com

Be aware that should you wish to purchase any books from them, it is recommended you get them directly from Games Workshop, as their publications are not easy to find in most bookshops.

  12. After finishing my first run of Dawn of War, I won't spoil it for anyone, but I can tell you this... there will probably be an expansion pack before long!

  13. Asp

    Asp Administrative Officer Officer

    Officer
Anything by Dan Abnett NoS.. His Eisenhorn trilogy (Malleus, Hereticus, Xenos)to get the ideas behind politcal intrigue, and a detailed look at the universe of 40K.. Or the Gaunts Ghosts series if you want to get ideas about how an elite unit of the Imperial Guard operates (Start with the book "First and Only", and follow from their).. IMO he's probably their best fiction author going..

  14. The Gaunts Ghosts series is quite good. Also the first Souldrinkers book by ben counter is also very good. Havn't had the chance to read the second one though. Also Words of Blood which is a series of short stories is quite good.

  15. Sputters

    Sputters DragonWolf<br>Invisible Shorts<br>AKA Black DragonWolf

    exactly what i was thinking

  16. Doz krazy orks.

  17. Although talks are still going on with THQ... after a message from a senior department-head, it is expected that Lionhead Studios will indeed be developing my game-project.

  18. This is the last post on this thread I will be doing for a long while, as talks with Lionhead Studios are allllllmossst complete! The following is the first of a set of quotes that will appear at the beginning of each codex (chapter-storyline) of the game:

"For the universe the understanding of life’s knowledge are measured by a single system:

In the past, all species’ greatest strength has been the capacity to control its evolution of knowledge…

…In the future, all species’ greatest weakness will be controlling the evolution such knowledge can create."

    Professor Angela Williamson
    Paeleobiogeneticist

Well, that's it before the press-release. In a few months when there will be an official site and forums, I will be a bit more "vocal" than I have been for this project, and a short synopsis of the game will be announced.

Just a quick question. Did you eventually decide on using source, engine wise? Considering that is what it says in your sig, but I want to be sure.
